Is the wall behind the vanity and toilet tile or wall paper? It is hard to tell. Either way, can you provide the source? Thank you!

Hello, the wall is covered in tile which was purchased from Tierra Sol in Calgary.

A15) @Dara Cooke: If you can't afford a quartz or granite worktop from day one then I would recommend using a laminate worktop as a temporary solution. If you don't put tiles up as a backsplash then replacing the worktops can be relatively easy in a couple of years.

Knock down wall between kitchen and dining room or sliding door

Hi All, Apologies if this has been done to death but I currently have a very dark dining room due to an extension that has been built to the rear of it. The kitchen has relatively more light so I was hoping to borrow some light from the kitchen. I am a bit nervous about fully bringing down the wall between the kitchen and dining room as I would like to preserve the entity of both rooms if that makes any sense. Question is any ideas or photos of the below ideas that can help me decide between the options I am looking into: (a) knock down wall fully (b) knock down half the wall to create an arch (c) add a sliding door between dining and kitchen? Help please - not sure what to do either side of chimney breast

I'm really struggling to decide what to do with the natural alcoves either side of the chimney breast in our new build. We are aiming for a contemporary look and the wall in question is at one end of an open plan Kitchen/Dining/Living room approximately 11.5m x 4.4m (please see images of SketchUp model attached) Any suggestions would be really appreciated. herringbone wood floor

I am getting a herringbone floor laid and I would love some advice. Question 1, which direction to lay arrow pattern, pointing towards window or towards left wall where I will have my upright piano as the focal point of this small room? The width wall to wall is 3.01m the depth to windows is 3.25m. Question 2, should I run a “frame” of planks on the wall sides/all sides of the room or let the pattern run in under the skirting board? I thought a frame edging might make the room look smaller? Question 3, How to transition from the dining room acacia wood floor to the new oak floor? I currently have option of a saddle board between the two which would be level to both floors or an oak T-profile to sit between the two which would give a very small ramp. Thinking of painting/staining the transition black due to the colour difference between the floors. Any advice please?
