Has it been cleaned? Why are the fringe different colors on each side?

bminars14 Thank you for your interest in this Persian Azerbaijan rug. All of my rugs have been cleaned. The fringe on this Azerbaijan rug is a different color because it is up to the weaver; it's like a weaver's signature. The fringe is the foundation fibers of the rug. It is in great condition.

I want to paint my kitchen walls inclusive of where the presses are so the wall with the window and the wall to the right. The island is a sage colour. I am thinking a very light heather colour so the kitchen will tie in with the living room (pic2) & get a rug for under the finish table to link the two. Any opinions?

I live in a rented property so unfortunately I’m not permitted to paint the walls. I’m stuck with a boring magnolia on the walls in the living room. The floors are a light wood and the sofas are dark brown leather. I have bought this rug - see photo. I would like to add some nice curtains and cushions to make the room warm and cosy but I’m not sure what colours to go for. Any advice much appreciated, thank you.
