Window colour dilemma

Building a 1400sqFt extension on to Home which has Marvin sash windows in French vanilla (deep cream colour). Hate the colour so don’t want it for new extension but can I go for a completely different colour? Both old and new windows will be visible to all. Was thinking completely contrasting colour like navy or charcoal grey colour but also thinking something lighter like pebble grey which is a light grey with a mossy green hue to it. Also not going with sash style in extension as windows bigger.

Go for a beige upholstered headboard, white bedding, beige throw & some feature cushions that have the beige & grey in them. Another option is to paint the walls to a similar shade as the wardrobe so it blends in. I would be careful what you do for furniture, possibly steer clear of too much more timber

Hi Kate, you may not be allowed to plaster the dash as sometimes house fronts are protected. For colour try Indian yellow from Farrow and Ball. This strong colour is associated with your style of house and has the advantage or drawing the attention away from the dash and onto the lighter colours. ie. windows and doors. To save costs Farrow and Ball colours can be mixed into other branded outdoor paints.

Rear south facing extension design dilemma

We are adding a rear single story extension to our semi detached 3 bed house, the rear of the house is south facing so lots of natural light, our current design is for a pitched roof with Velux in the roof and triangular windows on the back wall. Has anyone encountered blinding shafts of light through these upper windows? At the moment we notice in autumn / winter / early spring when the sun is lower we have to put the blinds down at the back of the house. The blinds for triangular windows I find ugly and dust magnets, but our architect thinks I am mad to remove them from the plans Many thanks for all advice

This is for my home office. I have a small room 10ft * 8ft with beige color on the walls.Shiny rustic beige and siler lined curtains and brushed nicole curtain rod.Wall 1 : The room has 1 side with a corner entrance white wooden door. On the same wall other corner has a built in closet with white doors.Wall2 : In front of the closet, the wall has a window.
