Which frames for above the bed?
Comments (103)Hi snan - to address your questions: 1 - yes, the lamps work very well. With regard to the height of the larger lamps: do you know how high they would be? If the bottom of the lampshade is even with the top of the pillows that should work. If they are taller than that I think you will be okay with the smaller lamps. Look back again at some of the pictures above to see what I mean. The thing that will look odd would be if the top of the lamps were taller than your headboard. The idea is that when you are in bed reading a book that you want the light to be able to reflect down. As far as the lampshade size goes on the smaller lamps I'm thinking the shorter ones since they don't seem to drop down as far as the larger ones. 2 & 3-Definitely chair by the mirrored bedside locker with one white locker on the other side. Without question. The chair to the left of the bed gave the room life. Use the extra white one in a closet or another room. You don't want to overcrowd your room when you are going for a tranquil setting. 4-Absolutely okay to have bedside tables that don't match and look good in the room. Whether or not you like that is a personal preference though. I would only put the mirrored one next to the bed though if you have the chair next to it. It's how they play off each other that makes it work. If you don't keep the chair next to the bed then I would use both white tables beside the bed. It is also fine that the pictures are off-centre to the wall as long as they are centered to the bed. :)...See MoreNew baby on the way!
Comments (15)Okay..... I've been having fun! I've attached the links below for some ideas but my best advice is go onto www.notonthehighstreet and look at their cushions and bedding etc. A theme would be good. Is there something they both like such as animals or circus or are you looking for something for them to grow with? What colours do they like? Is your boy extremely boyish (no pink mum!), is your girl fussy or strongminded? (my 2 year old is!)If you can find one thing that you really like and they both do too then it gives us a starting point. I'm thinking along the lines of plain bedding, a matching cushion on each bed in bright multicolours or an animal and then another cushion and throws to blend with the feature cushion. Artwork could be their names in letters (hobbycraft do brown ones that you can paint) or maybe even wall decals. A plain or multicoloured rug on the floor to match the theme. http://www.diy.com/departments/colours-cleo-multicolour-spot-rug-l17m-w12m/181996_BQ.prd# http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3568570.htm http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2880259.htm http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/ideahomeco/product/recycled-cotton-rag-rug-by-nordal http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/thefairground/product/personalised-quilt http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/frogsandsprogs/product/rainbow-chevron-baby-blanket http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/feltsogood/product/handmade-felt-multicoloured-ball-cushion Let me know how you get on!...See MoreNew baby on the way!
Comments (11)Hi there, How about a very pale blue? I know it's for both a boy and girl but pale blue goes well with pink. If you get a bunk bed which can be split into single beds, then on the girl side you could place metallic gold stickers on the wall or pale pink and on the boys dark blue. You could get polka dot bed sheets pink for the girl, blue for the boy or go completely neutral and go for green. Place a small desk or bedside table with a nightlight on top, maybe get their names on the wall above the bed too, or a shelf on each side with their favourite items on top. So much possibilities. I'll attach some pics....See MoreAwkward bedroom room shape
Comments (0)My 16 year old daughters bedroom urgently needs a makeover, but it's an awkward shape. She is arty, so hoards everything. She loves to read, needs space for 2nd bed (pullout or fold up) and a study desk. Style wise, she loves the loft look, but I'm really struggling with a layout. I would appreciate any ideas. Here is a drawing of her room plan. It's quite small..Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thank you...See MoreE D
