This entire house is just gorgeous! I was wondering about the wood flooring throughout the house. Is it real wood? Thank you!

ms1zebra, Thanks for your comment and interest! River-rock finished aluminum is a great surface. Its unfinished textured top allows for increased durability for work surfaces. It is resilient with heat, stains, oxidation, but will show signs of use if heavy objects are dropped on or slid across it or cutting is done on it with steel knives. As mainly a lighting manufacturer, we do not heavily promote our tile choices, so we haven't made much of an impact on the tile market. Perhaps when folks think of aluminum as a material, they think about unfinished flat aluminum sheet, which is not a good or even available choice for kitchen surfaces. However, our tumbled finish and thick castings give durability and a great balance between a classic weathered and modern look. Please, please, please, don't paint any of the wood. You have a beautiful setting for mid century modern décor. I can agree with removing the carpet from the stairs, however I would just want to add a jute floor covering for the stairs after. The light fixtures should probably both be changed. You even have a lovely roomy space in your foyer. I always recommend starting with the foundation of the room, which is the floor covering. Kilim, ikat, Persian or Oriental would be my choice. I would think minimalist would be very fitting in this space.

not alot happening at the moment, its winter! alotta rain, lotta. but i am bedding down to get this over with and maybe in the spring the spirits will rise once more. i hope so. i would love to feel i was doing something to keep my hopes and dreams alive, i dont see what i can do until the spring. when i bring the topic up, especially to those that moved away and came down this neck of the woods, they say they had friends who felt it was too far too and moved back home. i guess thats how i feel, thats what i want and i just want to be a bit more uplifted, i think rain dampens down things a bit!!! santa Ma Margaret!

hi everyone, dropping by to say us twins are off to the 'self build' at city west this weekend, decided on sunday so i can rest tomorrow. twin very undecided about all of this, she needs some reassurance, hard to find that in todays pace. not entirely sure who i could ask! anyway we are off to a top specialist hospital soon, very soon so we are getting our medical files all sorted right now. we have an extremely rare disease so we have to go out to get the help we need nada in ireland, i know i have a test lined up for the very first day on arrival, if they take any more lumps out of my muscle without anasthesia i will go nuts, yes my friends not for the faint hearted and i mean it, they cannot deaden the muscle, guess they have to see it wriggle!!!!
