Well I am a very plain sort of a person and I don't like overdoing patterns. The timber in the cupboards is beautiful and I feel that bench top would detract from it. I would have as plain as possible top in a cream/beige to enhance the timber. This would give you plenty of choice of other colours in the room. I don't feel I can really comment on colours as I can't tell the aspect of your room or the lighting nor do I know what other colours you have through the house. The only downside to the cupboard doors you are considering is that they will attract dust and being in the kitchen a greasy dust.

We've finally decided to change our dated kitchen and currently not using the space correctly. Both myself and my partner have been discussing ideas, layouts, colours, etc., over the past 2 weeks and we just seem to be going round in circles! We need a 3rd party to come and advise on the best layout for us. Should we get an external interior designer in to provide advice? Or will a kitchen company provide this to us? Should we visit showrooms to choose a design? We're clueless as to what steps to take to choosing the correct kitchen and layout, so would love to hear from anyone who has gone through this recently. I'm based in Meath, Ireland.

We are re vamping above room. Want to try & use most of the items. The hob & oven are coming out as we have bought a SMEG induction cooker black width 100cm. Floor tiles staying. Backsplash may cover with painted glass. Bay window wall one color ?? Thinking greys for cupboards possibilities charcoal/dove grey basically contrasting greys walls shades of coffee or berries ? need inspiration

Last piece of the puzzle is deciding on kitchen cabinet colour and I’m worried I’m going to make wrong decision. I’m going for light and bright but don’t want the kitchen to feel cold and clinical. I have light gray porcelain tiles, White Carrera Quartz worktop with light gray veining. Island will be navy or deep teal/gray. Does anyone have thoughts about Ammonite vs Cornforth White, both Farrow & Ball. Does Ammonite look chalky white? The look I’m going for is on 2nd photo. The kitchen only gets sun in the summer, it’s west facing.
