New kitchen, but just not working.
Comments (448)fragle0 ... congratulations on the new addition to your family. Have been following your lovely changes. You probably won't have time to work on the decor for a while. Just wanted to suggest that you try pulling the nesting tables forward to be more in line with front of the chairs & placing your floor lamp to the back of them. This will give a bit more light at night for reading in that area. Also switching the plant by the fireplace & the one on the corner by the sofa....See MoreHow to design layout of open space for family with young kids
Comments (1)We aren't ignoring you - sometimes it is just timing! We are still stuck in inches over here too, so takes a bit of time to convert. If you need play space and living and dining, then I'm going to suggest you need a built in banquette on the wall opposite the fireplace . . though I would sneak it to within 1600 meters of the island edge and run it for at least 1900 meters or so. That will allow you to place the table 2' / 640 closer to the wall opposite the storage and fire and give you a larger living space remaining . slide the dining closer to the island . . a lot closer. This suggestion came after I first attempted to parallel the dining table to the island and saw what space you have left. Your size dining table is assumed to be the one that is drawn. Or what you hope to have . . when you banquette and slide dining towards the kitchen, that might encourage you to shift the fireplace a bit closer to the top of the drawing . . so it was centered down where enjoying it might also afford a view. I also am unclear about where the front door is - if the top elevation is the glass wall system that will open all the way, you should place the single door that opens by itself on the left. Between the dining table and the glass wall is the area for a play space . . . near the out of doors but away from the kitchen....See MoreHelp with a boring bedroom
Comments (23)Adding width BEHIND THE BED - with a headboard (which doesn't have to be a "headboard"; it could be fabric, collection of mirrors, collection of pictures, a farm gate!, small chairs or stools) across the entire width. Matching bedside tables/bookcases/chests/ with LAMPS - useful storage for extra books, extra bedding, etc. CURTAINS always warm up a room. People will always feel colder away from home - provide an extra blanket or duvet to add to the bed. I notice there is no WARDROBE. Not really necessary for overnight guests (provide hooks on the back of the door) but useful for storing your out-of-season coats, etc. There is plenty of room behind the door. Buy one on eBay and paint it to suit your colour scheme....See MoreLiving Room Help With Everything!
Comments (8)From the looks of things, that really is the only place for the sectional. So...can you pull it out just a foot maybe away from the window? Move your tv over the stove if safe to do and try a big plant in that corner where the tv is now. Your painting behind some is way too big for that wall. Move to opposite wall. I would remove the black loves eat and replace with two reading chairs and maybe that end table you have by the sofa. For window treatments I just do not see drapes/curtains working in this room with that sectional....See MoreSpore Design
