Kitchen finish

Finalising our new kitchen design. Next step is to decide on cabinet finish. Think we are going to go for a painted shaker finish. Need people's opinion on whether you prefer the woodgrain showing through or a flat finish. Looking at Kitchen stori - Wakefield versus Georgia. Thanks

DO NOT USE DRUNK TANK PINK FOR A ROOM! Sorry, Groveraxle, but further down in the site you linked to it said, "Prisoners did respond and calmed down, as hoped, initially. Major goof: If they hung around too long, they became even more violent." Some police depts. have a pink room, but are cautioned not to let anyone remain in it more than 1 hour. It's called the rebound effect. I read about this while working for a state police agency.

I like the wood effect tile. If properly placed it might give the impression of an actual wood floor. Well apart from colour i guess one would have to conisder how easy they are to clean with stains and all. But more importantly how slippery they are when dry, when wet or when there is a little bit of oil on it.

Hi Divechick, No i love the layout, the kitchen is a good layout for using the dishwasher, fridge and cooker all close by., We have our plates and bowls in drawers which i love too.One thing we do need is more storage though. We are looking at knocking through to next room next year so the whole room will be wider and incorporate a utility. I think i will keep the general kitchen layout the same though but add more presses!

All the laminate covering had peeled off, I primed it with the BIN primer and finished it with oilbased satinwood.
