I left the cabbage in the pot for two months and forgot about it and when I discovered it the smell was horrible (smells like urine) and had permeated the stones. Is there a way to get the smell out or do I need to buy new stones?

They'll probably always smell a little off, but you can boil them in water for about 5 minutes. After boiling, place them in your oven. Set the temp. to 350 degrees and when the oven reaches 350, turn the oven off and let the stone weights stay in the oven until completely cooled. Do not store weights inside the crock. Turn the lid upside down on top of your crock and place the weights on top of a paper towel, in the lid.
