Am thinking of a whole wall of tall cupboards with sink on island but am wondering where the kettle might go as that is the appliance that is used 20 times a day
How about a hidden work surface behind one of the cupboard doors? Perhaps something that pops out to the touch then slides sideways then back in place when not in use?
If you are able, as indigozest has suggested, a hot tap would be the best solution. They will take up some room in your cupboard but how much depends on which one you choose, the same applies to the cost. Whilst the initial cost is a lot higher than a kettle they are cheaper and more environmentally friendly to run.
You will find you won't only use your tap for making drinks but for cooking and cleaning.
Some options below for you.
May be worth noting that Quooker and Franke do one tap that does boiling, hot and cold water if you wanted to streamline further. Always check the temperature that the boiling water comes out the tap at, this does vary between manufacturers. For example Quooker is 100 degrees, insinkerator is 98 degrees.
