Thank you for your interest in our project. The cabinets are from Ikea in soft cream color.

Well I am a very plain sort of a person and I don't like overdoing patterns. The timber in the cupboards is beautiful and I feel that bench top would detract from it. I would have as plain as possible top in a cream/beige to enhance the timber. This would give you plenty of choice of other colours in the room. I don't feel I can really comment on colours as I can't tell the aspect of your room or the lighting nor do I know what other colours you have through the house. The only downside to the cupboard doors you are considering is that they will attract dust and being in the kitchen a greasy dust.

Hi Emeline Thank you for trying to help. I am afraid I cant remember it in great detail, I thought it was small kitchen plan, and the presses were in duck egg blue but then there was this antique cabinet glass with two doors and the comment was that the cabinet was able to store the couples big collections of glasses. I never thought of that. It's a small room, I'm going for wooden floors throughout the whole ground level to make it flow better. I haven't decided what type either! I love limed oak floors but I'm in Ireland where it's damp a lot, so something that doesn't show up the dirt.

Yea I was looking at 'Petrol' colour which is a kind of Teal blue. However, it's for the entire ground floor so my plan was to go neutral and add colour instead on walls and with accessories, which will help when it comes to selling the house to renting it out as not everyone is crazy about bold pattern and colour. I was toying with sections too, but I'm not sure if it would look weird in an open plan space?
