When we brought our house it had parquet in the kitchen, Before weIt has made had an opportunity to seal it our dishwasher flooded & they poped up. I recommend that u carefully research using it in a wet area before committing to it.

Don't be swerved away from hand painted tiles! The best way to add colour and originality (I make hand painted tiles so I may be biased). I would take the tiles to just under the bottom shelf, and up to the hod. We have had tiles behind our cooker for 21 years, and we don't find the grout staying clean a problem. By the way - I think subway tiles will look dated in a few years, as anything bang on trend tends to do.

Looking for an quartz countertop that is a true white background with grey or black veining. We pulled probably 10-15 samples in the store yesterday. Once they were held up to a white and gray backsplash sample, they ALL looked too creamy/beige next to it. Any advice or have you seen the same issue look less noticeable once installed? We found a black Silestone that looks great with the backsplash, just can't decide if we want black.
