Does this wall seem load bearing?

Looking to remove part or all of this wall. I've been told it's not load bearing by a couple of contractors but that was before I took the drywall off the wall. What do you think? I'm not sure how to read the truss tag but it looks like it's designed to go across the whole house without a support wall in the middle.

Thanks Joseph. The wall is a little off center from the house and it looks like it's just sitting on the floor joists without any support down to the foundation. Also, wouldn't there be some type of brace, like a 2x4 top plate, that would run across all the trusses, instead of the individual 2x4s coming down vertically from each truss?

I would go with what the architect suggested. That was my immediate thought and also means that you will get light into your living area all day since the kitchen would be at the front and the living room at the back. It will be a nicer space to live in. If you really can't face bedrooms at the front though could you do something like this? It clearly isn't to scale!! You probably sacrifice a bit of space in that smallest bedroom but gain much more liveable floor space at the front of the house. It also gives your husband the open pan area he likes. It does sacrifice a separate entrance way though. I'd also shift the bathroom wall out and steal some space from the utility room so that you have a larger bathroom.

fragle0 ... congratulations on the new addition to your family. Have been following your lovely changes. You probably won't have time to work on the decor for a while. Just wanted to suggest that you try pulling the nesting tables forward to be more in line with front of the chairs & placing your floor lamp to the back of them. This will give a bit more light at night for reading in that area.Also switching the plant by the fireplace & the one on the corner by the sofa.

Gosh, I've returned after a week travelling for work to loads more suggestions - thanks all! To respond specifically: - the house faces south so gets the lovely morning (and in the uk, sometimes the only) sun. - the husband has avoided putting plants in the planters due to maintenance and they're generally twee so comments here have confirmed to me that they will be coming out - love the idea of wooden boxes with the spiky plants and grasses - also like the concept of taking out the grass/bed/tree in front completely out and replacing with slabs - yes to lightening the windows - to the Barn company, I honestly don't mind the advice and I'd never seen sloping garage roofs. - nicking ideas from landscaping of new builds....great idea! - finally, Helen Scholes, I'm embarrassed about the spelling of kerb. Had no idea! Thanks again all.

It doesn't look like it would be load bearing, especially if that is the framing below it. The truss design looks to be made to do a full span but we always send them in to our structural engineer we use to make sure. They generally will do a simple review for under $200.00. Without the full specs that came with the trusses it is just an educated guess. We always tell our clients it is better to be safe then sorry.

The lightweight steel studs are incapable of carrying loads. Scissors trusses are self-supporting.
