The only problem is you are going for a traditional fireplace and granite is a fairly modern look you could go for a lighter shade , remember its your house if you like the look stick to it. I would go into some fireplace shops and see what they look like, i'am sure whatever you put down will look lovely.

It small But your cabin sink unit is a good idea as you have storage space and it looks neat. I have changed my bath many times to shower unit and it has leaked every time, some times it has been the plumbers fault or bad design then it was a visitor who let the water spill while showering the last time it flooded the insurers wanted the bathroom TANKED! meaning waterproof walls and floors. This is done by an experienced plumber contractor of repute! as the insurers said too many claims from too many people with bad waterproofing. the insurer said they would not insure again or any other clients who had not got their bathroom water proofed by expert plumber fitters. SO I have gone back to the Bath with a shower enclosed and found it tops for waterproof.

I'm currently planning 3 bathroom renovations. Two where the space is 1200*800 and the third is 1200*700. I love the minimal look of this sonas bathroom panel with brushed nickel. My question is will I end up with a soaked floor outside if I go for the type of flat shower tray and then the minimal shower panels like this? They do offer a flipper for the end but what would be the optimal length for the side panel and if I get one of those will it reduce most waterflow from leaking out? We're not doing a wetroom, the floor outside will be either poured concrete or tiles.
