We've done some wall panelling along the stairs and for some reason it doesn't work the way I planned it. It makes hallway look cluttered, and sort of "jump" right on you when you come in, as this is the first thing you see in the house (photos are taken from the entrance). It's not painted yet ( just primed), and probably will look slightly better when all painted the same colour, but still feels wrong. I wonder, is it because the squares are too small? Boards too thick? Should I leave wider space between vertical boards? Any ideas how to make it look better? All advices are highly appreciated. Thanks.

So we're working on a project to install solar panels in our home. From talking with friends, not many of them actually have them installed in their homes. What do you think are the biggest obstacles to installing Solar Panels? P.S. I would be very happy to talk with anybody with solar panels already installed. Hello, I am moving to a new house near Guildford and will be re painting the whole house in neutral colours with off white woodwork and having carpet upstairs, but really don't want to have the stress and mess of removing the bathroom wall and floor tiles. I am trying to think of how I can keep the cottage/country/traditional feel with a modern twist, without removing the tiles. I will paint the door an off white. I do like wooden wall panels half way but wondering whether the blue tiles are worth keeping or what else I could do with the white tiles on the window wall and floor tiles which I dont like at all. I will change the sink to a vanity sink and toilet. Any help and ideas on what can be done without removing the tiles or what colours etc would look good would be appreciated! Photo attached. Hi, I'm moving house in a couple of weeks. I'm going to put panelling in this hallway and up the stairs. Planning on painting the panelling a darkish beige (esker Ridge by colourtrend) and the walls a lighter tone (powershell by colourtrend). The banisters will be an off black or dark navy. The carpet on stairs will be beige or some neutral. Not sure what to do about the cuboard door. Don't really want to do it white. What would look good? The panelling will meet the cupboard door below the top of the door(betwen thr middle and top of cuboard if that makes sense). There are also 3 normal doors off the hallway. They'll be white. What should I do with the cupboard door?
