Comments (1)To me it's a toss between storage and work surface. My inclination would be to use it to shelve out, but it's not wide enough to step into and have shelves. If you lose a press to allow for this are really only gaining the top shelves. You would also have to move your sink. 7 years agoIt looks stunning, I bet you're pleased! The chimney breast and window seat are great and I love the bookshelves. In terms of accessories, perhaps a pestle and mortar, fruit bowl and some faux stems (eucalyptus look good) for the island to bring in some more texture. Pic for ideas. I'd also add a potted herb by the sink. Can you hang Roman blinds outside of the recess? Hard to tell from the pic but if you can I'd go for that, something similar to the wall colour so as not to detract from the windows although I must admit I'd leave them uncovered unless needed for privacy/insulation! Perhaps add some pattern for cushions, there are lots of blue ikat ones around ATM which would complement the island

We think all that is needed is a personal touch, grasped with accesories. A vase with flowers and some wooden chopping boards would work well, aswell as some decadent pots (which can also become very useful in a busy kitchen).

7 years agoI absolutely love this look and the faux chimney is a great touch! I think a fabric patterned blind would add a nice softness the the room, maybe something like this pic. And totally agree with the above post about flowers, pink like in this pic would look gorgeous.
