Oh Say Does That Star-Spangled Banner Yet Wave Correctly?

As we celebrate our Independence Day on Monday, there is no
more beautiful sight than homes and communities proudly displaying the American
flag. Here are four quick tips courtesy of the U.S. Flag Code
on how to properly display the American flag at your home, along with some patriotic homes and
communities built by some of our NAHB members.

1.
The flag should be flown from sunrise to sunset, unless it’s illuminated during
dark.

2.
Unless it’s an all-weather flag (like the one in the image above), try not to subject it to inclement weather.

3.
When displayed from a staff projecting from your home, the union should be at
the peak.

4.
The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, floor or
water.

Happy Fourth of July!
