Love this room! I have a project I am trying to match up some flooring with rooms that would match it well. Would you be willing to let me use this photo?

Take out sofa, use beanbags and those blow up seats for their friends. Coloured rugs for tumbling and crawling on. Supersoft teddy bear blankets so they can curl up. Add in one of those soft blanket boxes for toy storage and so you have somewhere soft to perch when you are with them. Paper half way up the wall in the wall paper that kids can draw on, so they can decorate in whatever colour they like and you won't mind. A childs lift up desk, bookcase and some crazy lamps in weird colours. Then close the door, collapse on the sofa that you have moved, breathe a sigh of relief and thank your lucky stars that you have another room for the kids to go to. (Grab wine and pretend they aren't yours for half an hour! ;-) )

Love the open shelves on the island, the layout (assuming the fridge freezer is built in the tall cabinets), cupboards (including the colours), flooring. Not a fan of the colour of the pale worktop - it's too similar to the cabinet colour and looks mismatched. I also think the microwave is too high; should be level with adjoins doors.

Paint the doors black matt and the fames cream add silver crome door furniture. Huge silver mirror above the covered radiator then add a runner of any colour you like and match it with the lamps and lighting. hey presto done.

Hi Divechick, No i love the layout, the kitchen is a good layout for using the dishwasher, fridge and cooker all close by., We have our plates and bowls in drawers which i love too.One thing we do need is more storage though. We are looking at knocking through to next room next year so the whole room will be wider and incorporate a utility. I think i will keep the general kitchen layout the same though but add more presses!
