Please help me rejuvenate unused patio area
Comments (6)Hi Antoinette I too live in Ireland in a Semi Detached. My husband who's the one with green fingers has transformed our garden into an oasis you wouldn't think we lived in a housing estate. You might start with cleaning the slabs. You could change the edging tile with a contrasting one to set it off. Use different sizes and colours of pots. A seating area in one section. Use lots of different colours and plants which are ok to grow in pots. Just seeing all the colours come to life in Spring and Summer will cheer you up. Here are some photos that were taken at the end of summer last year the leaves have started falling from the trees. Oh yeah still have the clothes line up too....See MoreLarge Entryway of a bungalow ideas
Comments (26)Hi, you have a lovely home! I read through your thread, and I like Dar Eckarts suggestion above the best. I think because of the symmetry of it as an H shaped house is symmetrical, and it would also keep the space looking decorated but still open and uncluttered which is what an entrance should be. Sorry, but I don't care for the bookcase idea in an entrance. I also noticed the masks you have, and think it would be great to decorate the space using them as inspiration. Here is a photo to show you the kind of rug I think would work here....See MoreGarden help
Comments (25)Hi lots of different options and ideas going on. I had a similar wall and understand how mean it can be to little ones. I bought and put up the expanding wood trellis. This instantly covered the area at a very reasonable price. I then planted quick growing climbing plants. I'm not a great gardener so I cant remember what i had but ask at the garden centre they will advise you. But at least you have a barrier in place to minimize accidents....See MoreHelp please
Comments (1)A level patio area is always a good idea in a garden for somewhere to put table and chairs on. A practical path to the shed is especially useful when the grass is wet, it stops too much mud being trampled inside. Big pots on the patio filled with flowers or herbs would be a nice touch. They need to be big so the kids can't knock over them easily. Toysrus sell these rubber garden mats to put under play equipment. It has holes in them so the grass can grow through and it stops the kids turning the bit under the swing into a muddy pit. I have them at them around my kids' slide too. Our garden only had a 3 foot chain link fence around it, so I had a 6 foot wooden one put in front of it to stop the kids escaping.(this was because the neighbours owned 2 of the fences.)...See MoreEms by the sea
