Comments (3)HI Keerthi, the project turned out well, apart from the main house, I built a 9m x 6m building which I split in 2. The front 4.5m x 6m area is used for pressuried water system, gas burner and a multi fuel burner all to one side and fuels to the other. The is a door going into rear of building the same size. Theres a 3m wide by 1.2m window to the back of the bulding looking out into the garden with a glass door to the side. Its a fabulous plastered games room and may be used as a music practice room at some stage. There is a 600m floored attic for storage. I didnt get any feedback off site but still get great ideas for finishes within Houzz. Regards...See MoreNeed help with my living room please.
Comments (25)Wow, I didn't expect so many responses, thank you so much for your time and ideas. I do know that the art is wrong but had to put something up from our last house while we settle in. I do find the fireplace a bit un-friendly and so I would consider changing the colour of it even just the border of it like one of the photos shows. I'm not keen on the small computer cabinet or the ladder shelving I have to admit. I was thinking more of putting 3 full width cherry wood shelves, bottom one being wider and desk height, changing the light fittings to down lights and maybe having a wallpaper or painted backdrop behind the shelves?? I realise I would have to get rid of or change the wallpaper on the other wall and change the curtains too. I take your point, many of you said it, about the curtains needing to fall straight, but I will need a wider pole to do that. Again many thanks, AnnaMarie ps we are in Ireland now but lived in australia for many years and that picture over the mantle is of an old aussie shed with moon light on it....See Moreneed help downsizing and designing for ease of use with a disability
Comments (2)It's difficult to provide decent advice with limited information. Issues to consider: - access to the front door of new house, is it level or on a low slope? - is there level access from all external doors? i.e. no steps up or down. Do you need a ramp building with handrails? - is there a toilet downstairs? Do you need mobility aids like grab rails and emergency call systems? - doors need to be wide enough to get through. Assuming you use a wheelchair you may need wider doors. - is the new house on a single storey only? Bungalow? Obviously better if it is as there are no stairs to navigate. - steps and stairs generally - try to avoid properties with these or make sure they are limited or have a low rise and large tread area. - age of new house. The newer it is the more likely it is to more suited for accessibility. The older it is the harder it will be. New houses have access requirement regulations to comply with. - do you need an accessible kitchen? Larger space needed with low worktops for wheelchairs? Not sure if this is any help but maybe it is..?...See Morehelp me find a nice colour to decorate my attic and ensuite in it
Comments (1)Hi there! Have you had any progress with this? What colour are the walls currently and what kind of colour are you after - bold, brighter colours or more neutral tones?...See MoreMartha Carlton
