Just after buying a house and even though I am not a big fan or dark wood, I will try and restyle the bedroom without changing the colour of the wardrobe. In fact all I want to keep is the wardrobe... I'd love if I could get some ideas on curtains, carpet, bed and walls. Thanks a mil everyone :)
Hi Tatiana. As you haven't got an ideabook it would be great to have some idea on what styles and colours you like.
The room looks lovely and bright, which way does it face? As the wardrobes are quite dominant I would go for something masculine in look but with feminine touches like the lamps, flowers, cushions, velvet, silk etc. so something along the lines of what I've pictured. If there isn't room for a sofa at the end of the bed I'd opt for a bed end stool. If you're not keen on 4 posters (although I might choose a simpler one) I'd consider a dark velvet bed with a feature ŵall or an oversized headboard. I'd also hang the curtain pole higher.
Thank you so much Minnie101! I am new here so I am not familiar with the ideabook, but will look into it :) The room is south facing so it is indeed a very bright room. I would love to get one of those gray velvet beds but not sure it would suit the room. I love your idea of a bed end stool and you are right, I never noticed that about the curtains, but hanging the pole higher would make a great difference! Thanks again for your suggestions, really appreciate it
Oh ok! At the top right of your screen is "your houzz". When you see pics you like you on here you can set up idea books and save them down. The wardrobes are quite masculine and traditional in appearance so I think a grey velvet bed, perhaps buttoned, would work really well. As its South facing you are lucky that you can probably choose any ŵall colour you like! If you don't want to just stick with grey, then teal and mustard works really well with it or grass or lime green but pretty much any colour will go
