I don't like it at all.

I don't like it either, too visually cluttered. Photos used to be relaxing to browse, now it is like walking into a cluttered room. Dislike this change!

I want the old style Houzz back, hate this new style of different sections & rooms. It looks a mess and I can't find anything. I enjoyed reading the features & tours etc and if I wasn't interesting in the topic then I just skipped to the next, now all I see is just boxes of photos with readers questions. I had to page down 5 or 6 times before I found a feature and then I nearly missed.

I completely agree. It also seems as though it has some bugs to work out. As you scroll down to a larger photo ie Vanities and click on it thinking you will be looking at just that.. when in fact the next photo is the one of the small ones that is directly under the the Vanities topic photo????

I am one of Houzz's biggest fans, Which usually means a pain in the rump critic!

Perhaps the new feed page should have been launched as an "Option" and not the home page, just to test it out?

The great thing about the old format is that you got an eclectic range of photos that you could choose to spin off on a specific topic or not.

Good luck on getting those bugs worked out. Especially when you indicate a photo with a chosen feed topic and it doesn't work.

I agree. My first impression was WTHOUZZ?? Cluttered, messy, difficult to follow. If I were a first time user, I would bypass this site altogether. The great thing about Houzz was that it was like a gorgeous online magazine. Now it's more like going through a junk store catalog. Additionally, though I understand the presorting of styles to a point, it seems very limiting to do so. Agree with Steff that customization should be an option not a default. I have struggled through many changes on Houzz but this one will stop me from looking at the main page completely.

I think the main thing putting people off is the visual change-- the old home page was photo heavy and visually appealing like a nice glossy home mag, whereas the new home page is text/box/white space heavy. We like the pictures more than seeing so many random user comments/questions in the text boxes underneath--that is not the first thing of interest and not eye catching or relaxing to see, breaks up the photo images too much, distracts from them. I agree with all the others that the new home page format doesn't work. It's not visually appealing or inspirational -- and the old format with a few gorgeous images was great. Please bring it back!

Adding more detail to my earlier comment, I don't like that equal or even heavier page weight is given to questions a user may have regarding some photo and a brand new feature story. There is no separation between the "shop Houzz" and the so-and-so liked a picture or added it to an ideabook. I don't really care whether someone I don't know added a picture to their ideabook or asked a question about a photo but I would like to see the new stories that Houzz writers have done. Not many people have the time, energy or will to go through so much effort to find those new stories that have so many times given so much information to Houzzers.

Please stop trying to fix things that aren't broken. All these changes are taking away the uniqueness of what we all loved about Houzz in the first place.

Hi Emily, I just posted an issue stating that my account drop down menu is completely GONE! I had to google my name with houzz just to access my ideabook etc. Is this intentional? Sigh... Oh yeah, and the forums and anything personal other than the forced images from feeds. The search function works to access photos of my liking, but having to be forced the 3 options does nothing for no one since we usually have an idea in mind before we begin our search which usually isn't the stale 3 feed options that's in our face. The random image/category you all had prior was decent, or even the email newsletter brought me back here more than anything. Thanks for all of your hard work too...

Hi liebenswert, The drop down menu should still be there for sure. Can you tell me what browser you are using by chance, so I can try to replicate the issue?

yes I've tried using Firefox and Torch (which is a Chrome Browser) . Just tested on Google Chrome also a no go. This is what I get on all of my browsers.

I checked, it seems that the problem is that under 800x600 viewing you're not able to get to the other menus. Which isn't feasible for me as I'm hard of seeing... :( I guess I'm too old school to be cool anymore :p I take it that a few fuddy dudds may not be worth your group considering allowing a scroll bar or placing the account button closer to the left side? I'll bookmark my page for now. but hope this helps ... thank you. OH, just fyi, although a scroll bar appears in the picture I linked above, it doesn't allow me to see the rest of the menu past "lighting"

Ah. Were you able to access that previously under those conditions and this is a new issue?

yes i was able to do so before with no problems.
