RED BRICK GARDEN FLOORING
Comments (0)I live in a Terraced house with a walled in enclosure. Small garden measuring 12ft x 14ft. Was thinking of red bricking it with shrubbery. My concern is there are very mature trees at the end of the site and I consider it sheltered. I have 3 steps up to the garden, is there a danger that the red brick tiles will get a film and make them slippy or will they fade. What plan would you think would work for me. appreciate your support. kind regards. Mary...See MoreSMALL TERRACED GARDEN
Comments (2)It would help if you could post some photos as this gives us a better understanding of what you are dealing with. It would probably help your thinking if you draw out the space and really think about what your favourites plants are. A mix of some shrubs, climbers and small long flowing plants like geranium rozanne will give you year round interest. Remember right plant right place is a rule for a very good reason! Maybe talk to the neighbours about cutting back any branches on your side of the boundary?...See MoreWhat to plant?
Comments (0)We recently removed large overgrown dying trees from our back garden. We are now looking to plant for privacy, ideally to cover all the lower windows of houses behind us, 4 metres minimum ( our garden is on a lower level ). We are currently looking at clumping bamboo - either Fargesia robusta or Fargesia murieliae 'Deep Forest'. We are also looking at evergreen trees as an option. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!...See Morefront porch design help needed
Comments (0)We are in the process of finishing our house and our builder didn’t follow the plans for the front porch. The builder went 220ml higher at the top of the porch than what was on the plans. The house has 100 ml of external insulation so lowering it now would affect the external insulation but we’re now open to any suggestions to improving the appearance of the porch. We intend to put two bay trees on either side of the porch in the recess and an up/down light above each tree. There will be granite paving at the base of the porch. We are considering putting cedar or larch cladding in the recess surrounding the door. Should we request the builder to lower the top of the porch or would some sort of design feature such as the cladding in the recess be enough to improve the appearance?...See MoreJohn Davies Landscape
