I love this rug and want to do something similar to add colour to a concrete floor - where did you source this?

The double pocket doors are exactly what we re looking to implement, can you share how they recess fully into the wall? All pocket door systems we have seen leave 30-50mm of door exposed. Thank you!

Is the chandelier thing seeming a bit small for the room or is it just me? Given that your walls are plain, the sofa is plain how about a patterned rug? Do you like Persian rugs? I find that dark green wainscotting too heavy and would paint it a lighter color. Given you have just moved in I assume you are planning to be there a while. If you like traditional style do you want a fairly safe color scheme re walls and curtains, keeping future resale in mind. Or are u happy to decorate according to your tastes? The mirror seems a bit small to me.

Can't really see the main feature here, which is always the bed, but I'd advise moving it to a location where you can anchor it with a rug pulled 1/3 underneath it. Please, please, please, don't paint any of the wood. You have a beautiful setting for mid century modern décor. I can agree with removing the carpet from the stairs, however I would just want to add a jute floor covering for the stairs after. The light fixtures should probably both be changed. You even have a lovely roomy space in your foyer. I always recommend starting with the foundation of the room, which is the floor covering. Kilim, ikat, Persian or Oriental would be my choice. I would think minimalist would be very fitting in this space.

Hi there, If you are looking to create an opulent feel then we recommend looking at Traditional Interiors and taking points from these and applying these to your contemporary living space. We always design pocket doors so that they are fully recessed when open - otherwise they look awful! These doors are bespoke, and during the design process the opening was carefully sized to make sure the pocket depth was half the width of the opening itself.
