hi this windows is in our entrance hall..and we just have a stone washed wall there..With no soil to plant anything. I was thinking voile curtain and candle/lantern on the inside and paint wall and put a hanging basket with ivy pansies etc. anybody any alternative designs/ideas?
You could get a stained glass panel and suspend it inside the window frame. Might look at a flea market or tag sale. It would pair nicely with your tredle sewing machine. Use the window sill for accent items - a basket of bright sewing threads, a collection of sewing items...that sort of stuff.
Dee, I think 2manycats has nailed it for you. Rather than thinking of this as a window, think of it as a backlit (in the daytime), rectangular frame! The large, stained glass is a great option! Even though it's physically hard and cold, the design/colors can provide the warm, welcoming feature you desire for your entry area. It will be fun to see what you come up with!
Great ideas thanks! yes there is room for a planter..so that would be a good option. I also like the idea of using the windows as a frame with some eccentric pieces to complement the singer. well spotted!
