My family and I are moving to Tampa in August. I am concerned about solid hardwood floors, due to the humidity. Is it common to find solid hardwoods in FL homes? Should I worry about putting hardwoods in my house, due to the humidity, etc? I was thinking that we'd have to use engineered hardwood, which I don't want to do, or porcelain wood tile, which I do like.

Hello alchesterlane. You have asked some excellent questions. Unfortunately, being from Minnesota I don't think I am qualified to answer these questions. I would ask a hardwood floor contractor from the south. They are sure to steer you in the right direction. There are probably a few here on Houzz who could help out. Best of luck to you!
