I painted my kitchen three years ago, and I love it. It's hard work and can take some weeks to do. You need to take doors off, remove the hinges and handles. Remember you need to prime and paint two coats on each side, so for a door that equates to six coats of paint and letting each coat dry. I used Mylands of London paint, I'm just hooked on this paint as the eggshell is dead flat with only 8 percent sheen, you wont get another paint any flatter. And if the paints good enough for Downtown Abbey, then it's good enough for us. I would hold back on painting wall tiles, as they are white and look fine , paint the cupboards first and see what it looks like. I choose Myalnds paint and had the colour mixed in a farrow and ball blue green. See photos. Good luck Yvonne

Hi All, Apologies if this has been done to death but I currently have a very dark dining room due to an extension that has been built to the rear of it. The kitchen has relatively more light so I was hoping to borrow some light from the kitchen. I am a bit nervous about fully bringing down the wall between the kitchen and dining room as I would like to preserve the entity of both rooms if that makes any sense. Question is any ideas or photos of the below ideas that can help me decide between the options I am looking into: (a) knock down wall fully (b) knock down half the wall to create an arch (c) add a sliding door between dining and kitchen? Hi all, We are starting the process of building a new home. At this stage we need to begin to think about the interior hardware for the kitchen and doors. I would love to have a brass finish for my kitchen and then the interior doors to be black matte. Is this mixing of metals acceptable in the design world? Thanks, Christine

Hi all! We repainted our kitchen Cabinets a couple of years ago. The two most common use cabinet doors have paint damage around the knobs revealing the previous colours. We repainted but within a few weeks we were back to the same issue. If we repainted again is there a clear protective shield (vinyl for example) that we can stick around the knob to protect it? Or do you have other suggestions? Any advice greatly appreciated!
