The countertops are laminate. The color is Wilsonart Ebony Fusion #1799 with a matte finish, 1/4" beveled edge. Received lots of compliments on this counter. It looks like a "natural" product such as marble or granite, but its not like any stone that actually exists. The cabinets are Homecrest Maple with Sorrell finish. This photo makes them look more reddish than they really are, although they do have a hint of red in them. If I can offer an unsolicited opinion, black counters on chocolate cabinets is likely to create a "washout" effect. We typically advise against having the counters match the cabinet color. The counters should compliment the cabinets. If you think of the color wheel, if you start with one color, the colors on the opposite side of the wheel tend to compliment, while the colors right next to your starting color tend to washout and not look quite right. Ebony Fusion on Chocolate will create a very striking effect, but I'd encourage you to search for examples of dark counters on dark cabinets to see if that is the effect you are going for. A client last summer thought she wanted white cabinets with white counters, but ultimately agreed that that effect would be too "sterile" and, again, a "washout". She ended up using Blue Pearl granite and it looked beautiful.
I just built a house with Diamond brand Chocolate colored cabinets, and we used "Solarius" granite, which is similar to "New Venetian Gold". The Solarius has very dark brown flecks that match the Chocolate perfectly but the overall effect is yellow/brown, very Tuscan look that might not be what you are going for.
I hope this is helpful. Good luck with your project!
