back of staircase coming up into our sunroom

Ok I really need help here , see that big box in the left hand corner well we are troubleshooting as in what to do with the back of our staircase , it comes into the room at a right angle triangle ! The box is a bit of an over kill my husband thinks we should make a tiered seat out of it , I think a book case , but I don't want the whole corner drawn to that corner we plan to mount a tv in this room also ! Any suggestions ?? the box was just newly constructed by my brother whatever we do we plan to paint it.
