That is a limestone called Gasgogne Blue. It comes in several hues, and this was a more grayish version, and not at all blue. Our stone fabricator cut 2cm slabs into large scale tiles that were to my specifications so they would fit perfectly around the fireplace opening. The are larger in height at the bottom and get narrower towards the top. You would need a fabricator and installer familiar with vertical installations, and the back of the stones should be sealed before being installed, otherwise the adhesive will soak through and affect the color of the limestone on the front.
