Hi, I have purchased a new built home and the premade staircase is installed badly. The thickness of the staircase wall stringer is very uneven and badly finished. Any idea about how I can make it easier on eye would be greatly appreciated.
If it is a truly new build, then I would ask the building company or whoever sold it to you to come back and fix it, along with any other issues. This is called snagging. This is a very common problem with new builds that are sadly not always built well. As Angie says, it looks like the finish you would get in a very old building so not acceptable. It is such a huge problem there are now even companies who will inspect your home for snagging issues. Normally there is a 10 year warranty with new builds.
