“Mike Saia is an artist who was was able to make our backyard dream an even better reality. We had a large, flat, gravel yard. We wanted a pool and water features that felt more like a high sierra creek running through stone and forming swimming holes here and there. We wanted rocks we could lay on in the sun, sit on and read a book, jump or dive from into the water. We wanted to sit under the water cascading down a falls, or just stretch out in the shallows. Oh, and we wanted it all to look and feel natural - not man-made. It was Mike's artistic vision, knowledge and experience that made all of those things, and more, possible. Mike listened to everything we said - brought us back to earth when necessary (We did have a budget, after all) - and came up with creative ways to make it all happen. He was always focused on doing it right, and building something that would last a lifetime. Mike's crew are talented, skilled craftsmen, who give incredible attention to detail and also insist on doing the job right. AND they cleaned up every day before leaving the work site! Mike himself was always available to answer questions and help us make important decisions about design, features, and equipment, and never pressured us to spend more or to increase the scope of work. Every step of the way he would ask - is this OK? How do you like it so far? And if we thought a 2-ton boulder should be moved, the equipment came out, the guys got busy - and the boulder ended up right where we wanted it. Because Mike took a very hands-on approach to the project, things seldom went wrong. What is most amazing to us is that the project stayed on schedule and we had our pool precisely when he said we would. Of course, its' easy to be happy with a contractor when everything goes well. It's when things go wrong that you want this contractor in your corner. With a project this huge, and with such complicated systems, things are bound to go wrong - and they did! But from the smallest problem (an electrical outlet on the house went bad - and they just replaced it) to the biggest problem (our remote-enabled computerized pumps, filters and chlorinators stopped working 9 months later) - Mike was right there, either fixing it himself or making sure it got fixed, and then following up to be sure we were satisfied with the result. The bottom line is this - if you're going to invest in a water feature or any significant landscaping project, you should definitely consider Spring Creek. They are not the cheapest. But you do actually get every penny's worth of what you spend. Maybe even a little more.”
