“We used Pierce Landscape Designs for our patio project in our new home. There was an old deck in place and we wanted to put in a maintenance free patio with a fire pit. Jan worked with us to get our requirements and to help us design a layout for the new patio that would meet our budget. Not only did the design work our spatially, but she also took into account sun/shade, wind direction to avoid smoke from the grill (an outdoor kitchen has been planned in a later phase), and other aspect we would have never considered without her input. One of our requirements in her design was to be able to seamlessly add future phases that we could tie in later if we ever wanted to add things (such as a pool, walkway to the front, etc.). Jan created a new design for us that included future phases and worked with us to make phase 1 something we could enjoy while staying within budget. Throughout the process Jan stopped by to ensure the project was on task. Any problems or concerns we had through the process where handled quickly and to our satisfaction. Jan has also checked in with us since the project's completion to make sure we are still happy with our patio and we are...very much so. “Martin HaberWe undertook the project of transforming the deck and "back yard" of our lake property, a wooded, natural area, to have more visual impact and enhance our home. We wanted to "embellish" nature without being too obvious about it. Martin was able to translate our vision and improve on it. He helped us with deck design and hardscape features and ultimately a landscape plan. He terraced the gently sloping lot with a stone wall that bisected the entire yard and a set of stone stairs and created interest and direction by installing multiple stone pathways throughout the yard. Martin and I share a love of English cottage gardens, so he created a plan for the newly terraced area which incorporates partly shady to sunny sections full of flowering trees, shrubs and plants. When I had thoughts or details I wanted to explore along the way, Martin had ideas that took my initial concept and improved upon them, whether it was how the stairs should turn or an additional stone terrace or incorporation of my favorite plants. Martin also provided us referrals for contractors and was available for overseeing various parts of the plan and/or managing the contractors. We are thrilled with the outcome!”
