“When I decided I wanted to redo our kitchen, I had a rather vague idea of what I wanted. It is a very small space, so difficult to work with. Donna just came through with great ideas, like moving the stove into a corner to better utilize space hard to get to, moving the pie safe out but using some nicely designed tin on cupboard doors to recreate the same feeling. She thought of these wonderfully rough granite counters that fit into an old house. The lighting is fantastic, nice bright lights over the work area, under cupboard lights for when you don't need a lot. I never felt pushed into anything I didn't want. Donna is an absolute gem, delightfully smart and easy to work with. I can't say enough about Donna and Dovetail Design: she went above and beyond. I have one photo with Donna and me in the kitchen. “Karen designed both my kitchen and my master bathroom. She is creative and thoughtful in her designs and problem-solving. She is very collaborative when working with her customers. This is especially helpful when doing a remodel project with limitations on space and infrastructure constraints. She will go the extra mile to get her client what they want and need for function and value. She even drove me to Boston to look at bath fixtures and other items at the Design Center, just so I could have a complete range of items to chose from for my new bathroom, She also takes care of customers after the project is completed, and anything that doesn't perform 100% gets addressed and corrected. Her humor and practical view towards her work is also most appreciated.”

“Universal Home Renovations remodeled our backyard a few months ago and did an exceptional job. The owner, Richard, was responsive from the first phone call, and remained so through the build and post build process. During our initial meeting, he took the time to really discussed our design plans, offered logistical and design feedback and helped us make the most of our somewhat limited budget.Being that we had to be out of town some of the time made us a little nervous on the finished product even though our project was small compared to some of his designs, he really made us feel as though he valued our business and wanted us to have a backyard we'd be thrilled with. Once construction began (ahead of schedule), Richard introduced us to the foreman for each crew and checked in regularly to make sure we were happy with the progress and didn't have any questions. His men were all very friendly and welcomed our questions as well. The one instance where a portion of the project was delayed from Richard’s project was delayed from Richard's projected time schedule, he was quick to respond to our inquiry and explained the situation that had caused the delay. They still finished the project much faster than we had initially expected. The finished product is truly beautiful. We have a new composite deck, and paver patio that have completely transformed our backyard and our ability to use the space. After our final walk-through, during which Richard took the time to make sure we understand how to maintain the space, he has remained accessible for additional questions we have had. Overall working with Universal Home Renovations, and its owner,Richard was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend this business without reserve.”
