“When I first started to finally be able to remodel our kitchen, I did not really no where to start or what to expect. Luckily someone gave me the name of Rambling Interiors (Maise Leach) and what a blessing. Maise made the process flow and took a huge burden off me. She provided great ideas all while respecting my input. I cannot imagine doing this without her thoroughness and guidance.”

“I could not recommend anyone more highly than Sarah Knicely of Dogwood Design to design your new home or renovation. Our dream home came to fruition through her expertise, diligence and professionalism. My husband and I designed a contemporary-style but not modern house. We liked the clean lines and simplicity of contemporary design but did not want the sterile feel so often found in sleek modern homes. In our first meeting with Sarah, we reviewed the plans room by room to outline what features we were interested in having. I also had some examples saved on Houzz.com, which she reviewed. Immediately, Sarah recognized the key elements of the look we were trying to achieve. She also understood that our priorities were cost and how easily something could be cleaned; it was imperative that we stayed within budget. I was actively involved in selecting all the finishes for the house, and Sarah expertly guided me through each choice ensuring that we retained consistency and stayed within budget. The process became an evolution of style, which Sarah embraced. She did not force items or colors, and when I couldn’t find a particular light fixture or tile that appealed to me, she offered appropriate choices and often knew which one I’d pick. It was the perfect collaboration. In addition to the fun of planning our house, Sarah’s professionalism made the experience that much more enjoyable. She regularly provided budget updates so I knew where we stood before the next round of selections. We went over in some categories but stayed under in others to come out even as desired. On occasion, items that I selected had been discontinued by the time they were ready to be ordered. Sarah promptly informed us and offered potential substitutions. I could write to her about any question, concern or crazy idea and know I’d get a thoughtful response within 24 hours. More importantly, I knew anything she told me would happen and if something came up to prevent it, she would let me know. We always knew where we stood and what to expect, which considerably reduced the stress of building a new home. Sarah made it fun!”

After 11 years the clubhouse/leasing office was in dire need of a new look that mirrored the classical and tasteful architecture of the buildings. Beverly's aunt and uncle are close friends and referred us to Beverly when I mentioned in passing our need for interior design assistance. All I can say is that Beverly did not disappoint. She's a listener, eager to please, and devoid of the design agenda of so many in her field. As a former associate of legendary designer Bunny Williams, she brought ne plus ultra taste to the task without breaking the bank. “Due to an out of state move we needed to sell our house in Lynchburg VA. We listed with our Realtor John Walker, in June. She did a good job of bringing prospective buyers in but they always had the same criticism. The paint colors were dated and the kitchen counters were unappealing. After several months of this we spoke to the Realtor about staging the house. She brought in Tera Janelle Design. Tera painted the first floor with a fresh contemporary palate. She changed out the counters to quartz of a color that coordinated with the existing kitchen cabinets and staged the house. Within six weeks we got a firm offer. We thought we would be waiting until after the holidays but the offer came in Christmas week. Tera Janelle Design did the work on time and at the budget estimate. We would hire Tera Jangle Design again. -David Blackinton”

“My husband and I have worked with Dale Davis Designs on three projects--two commercial projects for businesses we own and more recently on our vacation home. Dale is amazingly creative! She truly thinks outside of the box in coming up with unique ways to incorporate our own style and ideas while elevating things to a higher level. She was able to tie together our many ideas to create functional and cohesive spaces. She is very detail oriented and works well with the many contractors and subcontractors involved in large projects, whether they are renovations or new builds. Dale goes above and beyond to help projects meet deadlines and budgets. We couldn't be happier with our experiences with Dale Davis!”

She is professional, friendly and accommodating in her schedule and the fresh ideas she brings to you for your individual projects to create a new personalized conception for your space or piece. Also, as an additional strength, she is persistent in seeking out to find just the right materials for your project and then implements them in a timely schedule and tries diligently to meet every aspect of the project. “Whitney helped us design my husband’s home office shortly after we moved into our home. From the first consult to the walk through, she was very attentive to our design style, items we already had and wanted to incorporate, functionality of the room, and our budget. She was great at communicating with us along the way about selecting furniture, paint color, and lighting. The best part was the reveal day when after a few hours keeping ourselves busy, she had the room completely finished. We were thrilled with how the room turned out, and she did an amazing job of finding accessories and furniture that suited his style. She is a master at shelf styling! We still love to look around at the details in the room that we would have never thought of or been able to put together. He still loves his office, and we get compliments from everyone who walks in the door. If you have the start of an idea for a space, but need someone with the vision and organization to pull it together, Whitney can help! She also was willing to create a mood board with shopping list for my living/dining room which was great for me when I wasn’t ready to do the room all in one go due to budget.
