Shelby was always sure to maintain a clean workspace and keep our house free of debris during our renovation. Our project involved remodeling a bathroom in our house built in 1970. There were several challenges Shelby uncovered and overcame. Our project involved taking the bathroom walls, floor, and ceiling down to the studs., Shelby reworked plumbing, rerouted and modified electric, removed a very heavy bathtub, installed floor and wall tile, installed a new toilet, shower, and vanity. He painted walls, installed shower doors, put in all new plumbing and light fixtures, and all associated wooden trim. Shelby has a very broad skillset and was able to work through any problem he encountered. Additionally, Shelby is very polite and was respectful of our home. “In April of 2016, we began the search to find the best contractor in the Cincinnati area to build a new addition and remodel our house. It was a difficult process, and after interviewing several contractors I was about to give up until a contractor that had worked on my kitchen recommended Legacy Custom Builders LLC. I was sold from the first meeting with James Kennedy where we walked through the house and discussed the ideas around the addition. James walked me through the entire process and one of the best pieces of advice he gave me was to hire an architect (Darren E. Myers from Kenneth R. Bowerman, Architect, Inc.), also the best in Cincinnati. The entire team at Legacy was committed from day one to meeting our expectations and staying within our budget. From the initial drawings, through the city variance process, and finalizing the budget paperwork, Legacy and Darren were there every step of the way. Things can arise at any time that are unexpected and to the home owner may seem overwhelming and insurmountable. However, Rob is always cool and has a plan of action. He is patient and takes the time to explain all of the options and is only concerned that the client is happy in the end. I can't thank him and his team enough for everything they did over the 6 month period to make things right and ensure everything was taken care of down to the last detail. They remodeled our kitchen and put on an addition to our home that included a sunroom with fireplace, an exercize room and a greatly enlarged master closet. Under the addition they put a basement which contains a man cave, a wine cellar and a lot of storage space. “We have a high porch with pillars as you would see in the old southern homes yet there was never any railing around it which was very much needed for safety reasons. We hired Mr. Bales' company to put the railing up. It is perfect and looks so nice. We also had a water problem in our lower level laundry area. When the home was built, the walls were not properly finished so as to prevent ground water from seeping in anytime there was a heavy rainfall. The construction crew tore out part of the wall, waterproofed the entire area and put up new wall. At the same time, our hot water unit was in that room and they moved it to the corner of our garage and rebuilt wall and ceiling that was clumsily done in the building of the house. We also had them to put in new banister from upper to lower level. This company performed these jobs with extreme professionalism. The completed projects are proof of each worker's knowledge and experience in different areas of construction. I am sure that the men who work for Mr. Bales would attest to the great leadership and experience they have received from him on the job. They came in, got the jobs done, painted and cleaned up. We are totally satisfied with all that we had done and always call Bales when we have any project we are interested in doing.”
