“Chris Nelson of Peak Construction and Design delivered exactly what I asked him to complete for a project I designed in Palm Desert. Chris is very detail oriented and brought excellent sub contractors to the project. I was impressed with Chris' ability to manage the subs and get the very best work for my Client. There were definitely some delays in our schedule due to material availabilities and design changes on our part, but even with Chris managing multiple projects, he still managed to fit us into his busy schedule and keep the project moving. His thoughtful approach to translating the design details into reality was appreciated and he was a pleasure and a professional to work with from beginning to end. “I hired Steve and Jeffrey out of 7 contractors that I had interviewed. I chose them because they were personable, knowledgeable, had good energy, and listened to what I was asking to be done. I have an older home and wanted an update and changes made without taking away from some of the unique characteristics that I fell in love with in the first place. Steve and Jeffrey offered suggestions and worked with all of the issues we came across in a professional manner. When issues did arise, they were quick to resolve them. They were very fair when it came to the cost of any additional, unforeseen work. In addition, the crew that worked on my home were great. I never felt uncomfortable when they were in my home and I always trusted them to be in my home when I couldn't be there.”

“We hired Scott Gormley of Acumen Builders to be our general contractor for an extensive kitchen remodel. Our project involved a large amount of demolition and included removing a load-bearing wall, raising the ceiling height, and relocating a substantial portion of the HVAC and electrical components from below the joists to the roof (a flat roof). Before we even formally hired Scott, he made several visits to our residence to assist in the planning phase--even going to a nearby open house to see what we liked and disliked about a remodel that mirrored our floor plan. Throughout our project, Scott listened to our concerns, was knowledgeable, dependable, and used highly qualified subcontractors; he promptly paid the other trades immediately after receiving his own progress payments. The project turned out great, as you can see in the photos of "Lola's Timeless Kitchen"! We do not hesitate in recommending Scott Gormley and Acumen Builders for any of your building needs!”

“Nick and his team built out a next-gen suite for our father, complete with a kitchenette. The project included plumbing, lighting, electrical, moving interior doors, and exterior stucco work. They even added an attic access point where we didn’t have one. Most importantly, they were professional, timely, knowledgeable, and flexible.
