“We hired Gordon Weima Design Builder and his associated trades based on a recommendation from our architect. Mr. Weima served as the project manager. He was responsible to hire the trades, monitor their work and schedule, and oversee the construction budget. The project at hand was to build a modern addition to an existing century old house and modernized the interior of the existing house. The house is located in a heritate district of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The work was performed pursuant to the specifications as outlined in the plans provided by the architect. By the end of the project, the living space increased by 75 per cent. Mr. Weima and his trades did excellent work. Apart from a situation out of his control, the work was completed on time and within budget. He was able to schedule his trades to ensure that there would be no down time between the various phases of construction. This enabled us to plan for our move back into the house. We very much like the work that he and his trades did. His after service has also been very good. During the construction phase he took the time to point out some deficiencies that normally we would not have observed. Also, during the construction phase, he took the time to walk us through questions/concerns that we had and advised us how he would address the matter. Mr. Weima also kept the construction site clean and ensured that his trades did not encroach on the property of adjacent neighbours. We would welcome the opportunity to work with Mr. Weima in the future should we decide to undertake a similar project in the future. I would invite you to seriously consider Mr. Weima as part of your construction plans, whether it be to build an addition or new house. Mr. Weima will deliver you a quality product which I am certain you will not be deceived.”

“Our main bathroom needed a complete overhaul. Kim and Greg met with us to discuss options and take measurements. Kim had the design, bathroom fixtures, paint and flooring samples ready the next morning for review. It was all perfect. Greg started the project when he said he would. He was always on time and cleaned up at the end of each day. Building permits and inspections, plumber and electrician appointments were kept on track through good communication. Greg’s workmanship is of the highest quality down to the smallest details. We love our new bathroom. Without a doubt we’d hire this dynamic duo again and happy to recommend them to anyone else.”

The Ottawa NKBA chapter meets on the average once a month with professional trade seminars and product knowledge from suppliers. The social aspect helps me to grow and understand our local consumer and their needs. We also help the students at our local community college with these NKBA meetings as the students learn different aspects for their new career and socialize with the professionals as they will seek employment in the future. The Ottawa NKBA has an annual designer excellent award (DEA) which also helps to raise funds for our local community college in the NKBA program and reunite us all together for a fantastic soiree and celebration.”

“We finally decided to undertake the huge task of building our "dream home". We are firm believers in using local resources - we hired a local General Contractor and sourced many of our purchases locally. Perth Home Hardware was one of the locations that we used when it came time for Kitchen Design. We dealt primarily with Davey and Brandon for the kitchen design - and both could not have been more helpful. They met with us to discuss our visions, our styles and both took the time to really listen to what we were thinking of. Knowing we were on a tight timeline, the design team strove to ensure that we had a design in our hands within a matter of days. They provided us with clear design images of the kitchen layout and took the time to explain every feature. We were impressed with their professionalism and the manner in which they approached our design. In the end, we decided to go with a different design company - only because it had more of the features and options that we were looking for. Having said that, we were never made to feel uncomfortable or "shunned" for doing so. We continued to deal with Brandon in pricing flooring, tile, appliances, fixtures - everything we needed for our house we priced through Home Hardware. We did end up purchasing all of our bathroom fixtures (tub, shower, faucets, etc), lighting fixtures, laminate flooring, appliances and composite decking from Home Hardware. Generally speaking, they were able to beat any other pricing and the quality of product received was outstanding. I can't say enough about the customer service, the professionalism and the dedication of the staff at Perth Home Hardware. I would encourage anyone doing any sort of remodeling or building to go in and talk with their staff. He may hate me for saying so - but Brandon (Kitchen Dept) is the most knowledgeable and dedicated employee that you could have the opportunity to work with. Seek him out and be open and honest with him. He will never pressure you and remains a positive support system throughout. We will continue to use Perth Home Hardware as our primary source for any future home design/projects. We still have all of our landscaping to do - so we aren't finished with Home Hardware yet!”

“Carolyn Munro has extensive 30 years experience in designing and building and it showed on our kitchen renovation. By moving the location of the refrigerator, she made our kitchen look 3 feet wider! She also brought the wall behind our stove out 4 inches and created a beautiful mosaic design behind our slide-in stove that is an outstanding focal point in our kitchen. The kitchen went from gutting it to final delivery in under 4 weeks. She and her crew work very neatly and cleaned up each work day which was important to us since we were living in the house during the renovation. She also got us new stone tiling down the centre of our house and into the powder room and laundry room, hardwood in the dining room and living room, and renovated the powder room. She found us new ceiling light fixtures for the hallway, recommended larger baseboards, and new paint colours. This took only 2 extra weeks. We are thrilled with our gorgeous kitchen and feel like we're living in a new home! We highly recommend Carolyn Munro Design-Build. She and her team are very professional and easy to work with!”
