“I had film installed 5 years ago. It works as expected, giving some protection against glare reflected off a nearby building, and against unwanted summer heat, and also provided some privacy . The installation was painless. The product never looked like a cheap add-on, and after 5 years still looks like new. It is hard to tell that it is there - but it is. Bought on a friend's recommendation, it had worked well on his house.”

“We had the good fortune to find Lyn’s Draperies when we were looking for someone to update the window treatments in our living room. She came out to the house, got a sense of what we had and what we needed, and then proceeded to guide us through the process of finding a style compatible with our home and appropriate fabrics not only for the drapes but for a chair, window seat cushion, and couch cushions. “This was the smartest call I've made in a long time. I love my blinds they are both functional and beautiful adding warmth and elegance to my home. Tim was wonderful with colour and product suggestions for my blind purchase. The installers where quick, professional and cleaned up all the trash and even took down my temporary blinds. When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
