However, their additional services work well for sourcing out fabric and trims for window treatments and more. In trying to find a particular fabric in a colorway that worked with my client's aesthetic, the design staff at Wallauer's provided the source, the samples, and the installation necessary to complete my kitchen project. The fixed, relaxed roman blind with simple beaded trim and the Hunter Douglas blinds provided the finishing touches needed for my Modern Cottage kitchen design.”

“I have purchased window treatments from Added Touch several times and the experience was eye opening. Not only did I get a great price, but they gave me something I just could not get anywhere else that I looked, Honest reputable old fashioned service. I could not believe how much they knew about all types of window treatments. They carried what appeared to be a very wide selection from a number of different companies and they answered all my questions. They even came to my home with samples, measured my windows to make sure everything would fit properly and that was all free of charge. When my window treatments arrived they sent an installer to my home and he installed everything perfectly. “I had used this company in the past, with great success so it was obvious to go back to them. They were very attentive and was basically easy to schedule to look at fabrics. The shopping of fabrics got a little difficult in that 2 of the 3 fabrics i picked out were no longer available. I won't go into the details but from there it got a little difficult with no similar fabrics and time constraints. All that to say - everyone made a huge effort to find fabrics. The end of the story is that the work they do is stunning and my chairs which are antiques were brought up to date re stuffed and sprung. And the work is meticulous. I would recommend them for sure.”

“Best fabric choices. Great customer service. I ordered the panel design with a new fabric choice. Upon receipt I noticed the top edge was a bit frayed looking due to the woven quality of the fabric. I was worried that over time it actually would fray. I suggested to the Shade Store that they hem the top for a more polished look. They tried the idea, liked it, and sent me a new set! They also connected me up with a great measurer/installer. They were also very flexible when I realized I should have ordered a four panel system. The did an even exchange! Sent me a return shipping label. So while it was a bumpy start it all worked out and my room looks lovely.”

We met the wife of the owner, Paul who was helpful in helping choose the type of window treatment we wanted. Paul came to the home to sample books to help to measure and choose the color and fabrics for the blinds. Very personable.”

“Yumi came highly recommended through a designer. Custom window treatments are an investment, and Yumi was my spiritual guide. Yes, she is knowledgeable, professional, prompt, thorough and responsive. And she will remind you to consider stuff you hadn't thought through, like how the shades will look from the outside, or how often you have to clean drapes. Two thumbs up.”

“I just had window treatments installed by V-lonne. I ordered pirouettes and custom draperies for my living room and dining room. I even had a custom rod made for my dining room curtains. The result is absolutely stunning. It's better than I imagined it would be. I was so pleased with both the product and the professionalism of the staff that I decided to install silhouettes in my den. The staff is really great. When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
Any fabric can be used, but generally the most common types of fabric used are cotton, silk, linen, polyester, and combinations of these due to their lighter weight and insulating properties.
