“We want to recommend Signature Blinds. Derek came around at the agreed time and we agreed everything almost immediately. We had other shutter blind companies quote but there was a take if or leave attitude however with Signature Blinds it was different from the off - these guys know about customer service. Brian fitted them & worked late into the evening to ensure that we were happy with everything. Mark came around after the initial consultation to ensure the measurements were correct (attention to detail). The finished job was excellent. “Cheryl and her team did curtains for our farmhouse renovation; Roman blinds in kitchen, toilet, study, living room. Curtains in master and spare bedroom. Large drapes in apex windows / bifold doors of sunroom. I can’t rate her highly enough. She is patient and thoughtful in the design process. Her workmanship is excellent and her aftercare fab. 10/10 from me!”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
