“Lyle and his crew did an amazing, amazing, amazing job on our HW floors!!! My wife and I recently moved into a home in Frankfort, IL that was built in 1987, and the original hardwood floors had never been re-finished. We had deep traffic patterns, dog scrapes, water marks, dark patches, discoloration- in short-it just looked pretty ratty through most of the house. Lyle met with us and described the advantages of the Swedish refinishing method and how durable and long-lasting it is compared to poly/oil. We really wanted something that would wear well as we have four small kids, and they are tough on wood floors- so we liked the idea of the Swedish method. However, we were thinking that this method might cost a lot more than traditional poly or oil, so we didn't know if we would would go that route. After our initial consult, Lyle came back with an estimate that was very reasonable. We were thrilled that we could now get S&W on the job because of the four contractors we consulted with, Lyle was the most knowledgeable and passionate the process. Also, his insights on what color/finish we might want to go with were extremely valuable. Fast forward to the job--- Lyle and his crew arrived on time, they were enthusiastic and courteous, they were helpful in moving a wee bit of furniture, and they got right to work. It was impressive to watch them work as well. These guys are obviously true craftsman/floor mechanics. The finished floors are gorgeous! They look better than brand new! My wife says she could, "just sit in a chair and stare at them." : ) Lyle's custom color mix is perfect and the satin/semi-gloss sheen on the floors is just right. They really have turned the first floor of our home into a whole new space. A+++ for S&W Wood Floors. I trust them implicitly and cannot recommend them enough. “Windy City Coating installed a beautiful quartz floor in our 3-car garage. Jeff, one of the owners, came out to quote our job. I had some specific questions on how they prep the floor, and what types of material is used for the top coat. Jeff is very knowledgable and answered all my questions. No high pressure sales here. Jeff provided a detailed written quote and explained their 25-year residential warranty against yellowing and delamination. Windy City wasn’t the cheapest quote I received, but in comparison to the other companies, I felt confident Windy City would get the job done right. Our floor installation was a 3-day process. Day-1 was grinding and a tinted primer coat of epoxy and a quartz broadcast. Grinding dust was really kept to a minimum with the equipment and vacuum system they used. Day-2 was a coat of clear epoxy with another quartz broadcast. Day-3 was a polyaspartic top coat. Chris, Jeff’s brother and co-owner, was on the installation crew for days 2 & 3. Chris is a great guy and I felt reassured, from a quality control perspective, having Chris on the job site. Jeff and Chris provided clear communication throughout the job. They communicated the start time and scope of work for each day. There were no surprises. I would use Windy City Coating for future work and would gladly recommend them to friends and family.”

“I collected many bids to get my hardwood floors refinished, and restained. Two companies didn't even come to the house, just provided a quote on the phone. Ray from Buff and Coat came and looked over the floors very closely, also talking about how we should care for them. It was very apparent that he knew his floors! He was able to complete our job in the timeframe we needed. The workers were incredibly neat, efficient and did a beautiful job. They had to move our toilet to refinish underneath, and when they placed it back, it wasn't sealing properly. Ray hired a plumber, who came the same day, to fix the toilet. There was no charge to us for the plumber. Buff and Coat did a fabulous job, has incredible customer service, and were very pleasant to work with.”
