“Joe was exactly what we needed for our home remodel/addition project. We came in with lots of ideas but couldn't figure out how to pull it together and make it work. Joe was a great listener and quick to pick up on our style and needs, and in no time he was bringing solutions that we would never have come up with. “Leigha Heydt was our second architect hired for our project. The first didn't work out due to lack of understanding each others goals and budget. Leigha was a breath of fresh air in every way. She took out the intimidation factor in our first remodel experience. We immediately loved her straight forward honest approach and her knowledge of building a home (she has contractor experience). She was quick at assesing our needs and got straight to work on our plans. The plans were extremely professional with meticulous details that made every process after (finding contractors, engineers, etc and getting town approval) a breeze. Leigha understood us and always steered us in a realistic direction to keep to our goal. She has a very keen eye for use of space and pleasing design... that is timeless and functional. I can not say enough about Leigha, she is very talented, a great architect. Our entire house was dated with a small, closed in kitchen and no master bedroom. Our house is absolutely fantastic now with an open big kitchen, amazing master suite and a beautiful flow throughout. We chose a more modern style that is very family friendly. Leigha was right there with every resource - websites, places to find every last detail needed in our home. Again, I can't say enough- she's an amazing architect and communicator, she's thorough, always on time, wealth of resources and the calm in what could be an overwhelming experience. She's the best!”

“We asked Jill and Rich to work with us on an extensive house addition. They were truly with us as partners through the entire process. First, they knew the city regulations so well that they were able to help us maximize the useful square footage of our lot. They then proposed several designs that we hadn't considered, and really helped us choose a plan that worked for our family's needs. I love that they came up with many wonderful architectural touches that gave the addition a feel that blended with our craftsman style old house with the modern touches we were after. Small changes like moving a doorway a few inches really helped with the flow of the space. We've felt really fortunate to be able to have their careful attention to detail, commitment to quality, and ability to work within our budget. Overall, it was a total pleasure to work with them and I would love to work with them again on future projects.”

“We used John Lum Architecture for the complete remodel of ~1000 sq ft in San Francisco. John and team were fantastic to work with. Very creative yet good at listening to our thoughts and integrating our ideas. They understand how to both design a gorgeous contemporary space while still keeping it comfortable and livable. We depended on them with a lot of design detail recommendations such as fixtures, paint, tiles and they always had great suggestions that made the process much simpler and easy to manage. They are very professional, extremely responsive and timely. There were no surprises during the entire process including on deadlines and budgets. I would strongly recommend them.”

“The staff at Ohashi Design Studio helped me design my kitchen/living space. I wanted to open up our galley kitchen to be able to see our incredible view from the kitchen. They came up with a design I never imagined could work so well. Rather than just remove a wall, they moved the kitchen, changed it to a more functional shape and not only opened up the view, but made the living space feel like we were outside. I have been especially impressed with their level of service. They listened to my dreams and goals and turned it into a reality beyond what I'd hoped for. They were available anytime I needed guidance during construction and made sure the project was built down to the finest details. They helped me find a contractor and oversaw the bidding process. They helped pick out all the materials and finishes, even the paint color. I can't say enough about their level of expertise and professionalism. I worked with Dave and Alan.”

She listened to our project vision and freely shared her professional knowledge, contractor network, she provided advice on lighting, spacial design, energy saving and green materials, furniture placement in the new site and drafted master house plans. We have lived in the same house for 16+ years, but only fell in love with it a few months ago, with the help of Theresa Tamley Architectural Design.”

“I just completed a complete remodel of my San Francisco Edwardian flat and build out my basement. Joanne and her staff did a fantastic job. It started out as a kitchen bath remodel, but once the design process started expanded to include every room as we discussed how different spaces would be used and what I didn't like about the current space after living with it for 20yrs. Might as well do it right! Joanne's attention to detail, listening, and high ethical standards are unmatched. She would listen in the meetings and ask questions then come back with some ideas and sketches to get my reaction. She knew what I wanted without me even knowing it. She was also sensitive to the project budget which was important. I was able to complete the project within my budget. She was also key to working with the general contractor. She brought with her experience in projects of my scope / scale and working with different contractors and even her own remodel. This helped immensely. I look forward to the opportunity to work with Koch Architects again.”

“My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Elida Doldan Schujman to design and develop a wine cellar. The project's expectations grew when we met Elida who gave us her insight to design a wine cellar and completely finish the construction of the basement and garage. This required extensive demolition, foundation repair, new heating system, and a very technical architectural design. Elida managed the entire project. Every detail was presented after careful research and listening to our requirements. We were extremely pleased with the results. Working with Elida was a wonderful experience. Her creative ideas and attention to the details made the difference in converting our basement to a wine cellar, gym, workshop, cedar closet, and inventory closet. She is professional, personable, and a very creative architect.”

“My husband and I were in search of the perfect house that had to satisfy both our needs. The only thing we seemed to agree on was that the location had to be in Marin County. After almost 7 long years of renting, we finally found the perfect location on a street we were both in love with but unfortunately the house was far from what either one of us liked as it was way too small for our family of four and the one bathroom was the size of a phone booth! We then searched for an architect that would be able to give us both what we wanted and could see our vision and blend it together. After interviewing several different architects and feeling like they didn’t “get us” we moved on and were fortunate enough to have met Eric who was a referral from our real estate agent. He listened and really understood the look and feel each one of us wanted. When we saw the plans he designed for us, we were beyond delighted! He took our 1400 square foot home and turned it into a 3500 sqft. dream home that has everything we both had always wanted in the most creative and family friendly way. He put a lot of thought and care into our house and we couldn’t be happier with his brilliance, creativity, work ethic, honesty, and dedication.”
