“We worked with Kim to restore our 1920s Craftsman home in North Park. After interviewing several other architects, we knew with 100% certainty that Kim would be the perfect fit for our project. Not only did she come up with design and layout insights that we never would have thought of, she provided thoughtful, respectful and determined guidance throughout the project. She helped in every way possible... including the eventual Mills Act designation we received for the house. My husband and I are both very demanding, and high maintenance, clients, and Kim was able to keep us happy and content at all times. She's got an incredible relationships with contractors, builders and city officials. She's just the best... PERIOD. If I could give her 10 stars, I would!”

“After finding him on Yelp with good reviews, we had BVM design a 655 sq. ft. residence that incorporated a pre existing building. He was responsive to emails and calls and gave us a surprising number of designs. He was able to give us exactly what we wanted, despite our ideas being communicated rather poorly over the many many interruptions of small children. It was not cheap, but I don't really know what others charge. Also, when our general contractor saw the plans he said "boy, this guy knows how to draw!!" Overall, he was really easy to work with, gave us exactly what we wanted, and impressed other professionals in his field. What more could you want??”

“T7 Architecture was great to work with! Their architectural style was very compatible with ours--contemporary with lots of clean lines and natural materials. We always enjoyed our meetings with them. They got excited about our ideas and inspirational pictures and designed spaces that reflected what we needed and wanted. They are also practical and let us know if something we liked might push the cost of our project up a lot. They have a strong understanding of building codes, and work very well with City staff. They also worked really well with our contractor, who appreciated that their plans were implementable. We found T7's services to be a great value and are very happy with how our addition turned out!”

“Alcorn and Benton did a fantastic job designing and overseeing the construction of our house in La Jolla. They were extremely responsive to our inquiries, supported us in choosing design elements of the house and made sure the builder constructed the house appropriately. They brought the project in on time, were very professional, and even took care of our permits and community meetings. I recommend Alcorn and Benton without reservation and would use them again.”

“I hired Gerald to design our home in Pacific Beach in 2010 and could not be more excited about it, even to this day. He took a chopped up 1970s beater and turned it into the coolest house that I have ever lived in. The flow was amazing and it felt so much bigger when he was done. He also out in design elements that I NEVER thought we could afford, making the house look really high end and super custom when he was done. We ended up getting an unsolicited offer on it and selling it in 2013 (for a huge profit) but that house is for sure my favorite to date. When I buy again, it will 100% be with Gerald's input and the reno willl be his design!”
