“Departure came out to our property after the 2013 Build-It-Green tour and talked to us about potential of building an ADU. A year later, we decided to move forward with building an ADU and again, contacted Dan Lajoie. He came out to our property with the notes and ideas discussed the previous year and was willing to spend a long time discussing our hopes for our ADU. He was able to take our ideas and create a beautiful space that works perfectly for us and our property. Throughout the beginning of the process Dan was available to answer our questions, he spent time sharing pictures and showing us ideas as well as meeting with us regularly to look at his progress. He always took our perspective into account and reworked some of the drafts to ensure we were getting what we wanted; but he also had fantastic ideas that we had not thought of and did a great job inserting his personal character into the project. Overall, we have been really impressed with Dan's patience and his ability to turn a small space into something so functional and beautiful.”

“I have had the pleasure of working with Erich on several projects throughout the years. On building projects, hundreds of problems will arise and how they are dealt with determines the true professionalism of an architect. Erich has never missed a beat on solving the problems with me on custom door and window orders and has come up with very creative solutions. It would simplify Erich's skills to just say he is detail oriented, he goes far beyond just details. He looks at the job as a whole and somehow manages to break every component down into sub assemblies and how they interact with each other. Not just how it's to be designed and built, but does the item work aesthetically in the overall design. Simply put, he is a pro, an absolute pro. “Mr. Sheriff was the architect on this project that I built (I was the general contractor). He was very involved during the construction process providing invaluable feedback and answers to questions that inherently come up during the course of a construction project. In addition to that, I found him to be a very competent architect that tailored his design to the needs of this particular client and the challenging site he had to work with ensuring a very successful and well put together end result. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone considering a remodel or an entirely new home. Mr. Sheriff also happens to be a very good landscape designer and complements his home designs with a complete site and landscape plan.”

“Ely was excellent in eveything he does. He is very prompt and we loved working with him every step of the way. He came up with a great studio design for our 2nd location. He quickly drafted three different proposal after taking detailed measurements of the place. All designs were amazing. Once we finalize on the deisgn, he quickly put our permit application in with City of Portland for approval. The process was very efficient. He handled all steps of the process very professionally. We highly recommend working with him.”

“Pat did a fantastic job of designing a bump-out for my basement remodel to accommodate the new stairs I had to put in to meet code (very old house). I could not visualize what was going to be done to that part of my home and overall remodel until she walked me through the design, and then ---boom, it hit me! Light, windows, beautiful space utilization and best of all ---it looks like it has always been a part of the house ---does not look like a add-on at all. She was wonderful to work with, listened to what I wanted, and then provided a design to exceed what I thought I could have. She provided great drawings for the contractor and was just really good to work with. I have recommended her to many people and just can't say enough good things about her work and abilities!”
