“We hired Erik Oldham to design our custom home in 2012. This was our third custom home and we interviewed several architects with some clarity concerning our needs. We liked the house drawings on his website and were encouraged by his Yale education, but the singular aspect of Erik, which sold us, was his capacity to listen. In a very short period of time, he had determined the scope of our interests and with 3-D interactive imagery, was able to guide us to refine and complete our design. He was able to show us pictures that captured the style of what we liked. Erik differed from the other architects we have worked with, in that he has a background in Fine Arts and an interest in how the interior design and decor will fit. We provided him with the measurements of the furniture, which we wanted to keep, and he made the house fit around them. Erik was proactive throughout the building process and interacted with the builder and subs to clarify and explain what he intended. He also provided the most detailed and exact drawings we had ever seen. This included framing details for every complex joint or change. Erik also helped us with the colors and details for the interior and we have been very happy with them. We are happy to recommend Erik Oldham.”
