“Lane Williams took our dated and very tired looking 1960’s one story, pitched roof home with a daylight basement and transformed it into a beautiful modern home with strong horizontal and vertical planes and cantilevered masses. Lane's vision for the house really came together when we decided to spend the money to expand the carport to two cars. We were thinking it might not work, but when he showed us the renderings we both just thought wow – it balanced everything out and got us a look that was spectacular. “We have worked with Patricia Brennan Architects on 4 different projects of varying scale - from a kitchen/bathroom remodel to the transformation of a 4-story derelict warehouse into an AIA award winning building of artist live/work spaces. Each experience has left us with a deep appreciation for the work she does and how she does it. Patricia listens closely - she listens to the physical space of the project and she listens to the desires and needs of her clients. She engages in a collaborative dialogue at the outset of a project and continues the dialogue until the project is complete. She has an amazing sense of color, a wide range of knowledge about all kinds of materials (from lighting to flooring and everything in between) and she provides recommendations for high quality professionals and reliable contractors. She’s attentive to detail, to budget, to practical problem solving and to the aesthetics, flow and functionality of a space. Each project we’ve done with Patricia has exceeded our hopes and left us with living spaces we love to be in. “I am so pleased with the work the Refine Design architecture team has delivered for our home remodel. We bought a funky 1940s house that needs a ton of love and work. At first, it was quite overwhelming to not know the possibilities of the home and what could modernize it but also maintain some of the original factors that we love. We had a couple of ideas when we sat down with the team and they not only helped bring our vision to life, but offered different ideas and a point of view we had not thought of. I highly recommend this duo - they are incredibly easy to work with and passionate about what they do. Thank you both for your help with our home!”

“Renovation design for our 1910 crumbling craftsman - updated the look while preserving craftsman character. Punched out the roofline to create a dramatic front porch that casts lighting into a beautiful cedar ceiling you can see from a block away. We have the most unique craftsman on the block that is both beautiful and functional. Highly recommend!!”

“I was looking for someone deeply experienced in technical domains, (architecture, construction, and fabrication) to fit the requirements of my custom home, the Galer Street House. Thomas was tasked with production of the interior custom cabinetry and associated custom woodworking. From our first meeting, Thomas’s communication, experience and broad background gave me confidence that he would understand the complex geometries and be able to deliver the high-end quality needed for this application. From the custom handmade walnut cabinets, custom furniture-like features and being always available to help me when the details needed his attention, he delivered. I was not disappointed. In addition, when challenged by architectural details and budget constraints on the exterior of the home, Thomas, owner of Studio Walker Architects, Inc., was able to take a large burden off my shoulders with his durable design/build approach, which was substantially less expensive and also resulted in a better overall appearance. “Alev Seymen was our Project Manager, working for Castanes Architects, whom we chose for our new home design. During the development period, Alev provided us with many ideas and details of our design. Throughout the development and construction phase, she was sure to see that the design details were fully executed, always communicating her ideas and incorporating our ideas as well. Today after living in our home for several years, we are still in awe of the many details she designed and brought to us. Our home was recognized in Luxe magazine, Spring 2012 issue as well as Pacific NW magazine, May 12, 2013. Working with Alev was a pleasure and a wonderful experience. She is exceptional. “My wife and I used Gelotte Hommas for our remodel. We have a 1937 Brick Tudor that when added onto we wanted it to look as if the new part of the house had always been there from an architectural standpoint. They did an incredible job using original designs and pulling them through on the exterior. They also gave us tons of ideas we would never have come up with on the interior had we done it ourselves. We are very a happy with the project. Our neighbors even comment on how well the new addition ties into the original house. That is the main judge of quality in my opinion!”
