“People say that building a house is one of the most stressful things you can do and they were not wrong. We 'survived' our house build and now we can safely say that Emmett and Fingal Planning consultants was one of the very few people that gave us consistent and sound advice/service. Our build was very complicated due to many factors, but chiefly the type of the house, a low-energy "passive house"-style, the location and having several contractors involved posed the greatest challenges. Emmett guided us through the process in his trademark no-nonsense approach and we were very lucky to have him when trying to manage all the stakeholders that a build inevitably has, like authorities, contractors, neighbours and so on. During the rough patches of the project, he always stuck by his word and actually did more than he originally signed up for. When Emmett says he will do something he does it; he is open, honest, and little ruffles his feathers - a much needed attribute when emotions are high and money is low! “We engaged David for a refurbishment/extension project to our large Victorian home. David was able to turn the clients ideas into workable and practical design adding much along the way. His advocacy of a Contemporary Extension was proven with a resulting harmonious and much loved result. The new complementing the old house. David went the extra mile during design and construction to make sure it all came together. Working with an old house required accommodations with on site discoveries and a great result was achieved.”

“We purchased this house in 2008. We found it was designed to the highest manner to engage with the countryside its located in. The design of the house used every bit of sunlight in each room and we haven't found one aspect of it that we do not like or feel needs improved. We would certainly use Landmark Design if we were to build a house again.”
