Harveys on Beverly
Interior designers are calling too. When designing a home for Poppy and Cara Delevingne, Beverly Hills architect Nicolò Bini wanted to create a tropical feel by blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor, a role rattan was born to play. “Poppy wanted something very Hollywood Regency, a California dream home—light, airy, fun,” says Bini. “So I thought that rattan would be the perfect match for her.” Bini, a longtime fan and friend of Schwartz’s, had never before taken a client to Harvey’s warehouse. But when he brought Poppy at the end of a long day of touring furniture shops, “she just absolutely flipped out,” he says. This bioclimatic custom residence on a small lake in Orlando, Florida, brings open, flow through living to its tropical garden site. Three pavilions provide live/work/guest spaces, intertwining architecture with awesome mature live oaks. Dramatic cantilevers provide shade and dynamic movement.
The simplicity of the architecture meets a cooly casual materials palette, including ocala block, galvalume, and corrugated cement siding on the exterior, with terrazzo floors, louvered windows and exposed block on the interior.

The Pantone Institute has announced the color of the year for 2017. The color shade Greenery has been selected, which is a change from last year's colors: pastel Rose Quartz and Serenity. The selected color in a green tone is vivid and intense and is reminiscent of spring, a time which nature comes back to life. Space enriched with wall murals in Greenery hues will gain good energy and will inspire bold and positive changes.
