Traci Connell InteriorsThis sweet laundry room came to life with the addition of the yellow and blue modern flowered wallpaper and the painted accent cabinets. With yellow traversing draperies, the window is framed out perfectly.
Closet Organizing Systems Since the laundry originates primarily on the second floor and the area above this space was acceptable to a Laundry Shoot, careful placement of the cabinets allows the flow of laundry into a center cabinet on the back wall with a stationary top door. All cabinets on that rear wall were made 28” Deep for the Stackables and to house more laundry. Detergents and Laundry Items are stored on Pull Outs below. The sink cabinet had to be narrower than most drop sink requirements but the clients were able to find the perfect smaller version to enhance the area and provide the ability for the occasional hand washables with a rod above for drip drying. Interior Design By JoThis laundry is very compact, and is concealed behind cupboard doors in the guest bathroom. We designed it to have maximum storage and functionality.
Stephen GraverOur client came across Stephen Graver Ltd through a magazine advert and decided to visit the studio in Steeple Ashton, Wiltshire. They have lived in the same house for 20 years where their existing oven had finally given up. They wanted a new range cooker so they decided to take the opportunity to rearrange and update the kitchen and utility room.
Stephen visited and gave some concept ideas that would include the range cooker they had always wanted, change the orientation of the utility room and ultimately make it more functional. Being a small area it was important that the kitchen could be “clever” when it came to storage, and we needed to house a small TV. With the our approach of “we can do anything” we cleverly built the TV into a bespoke end panel. In addition we also installed a new tiled floor, new LED lighting and power sockets.
Both rooms were re-plastered, decorated and prepared for the new kitchen on a timescale of six weeks, and most importantly on budget, which led to two very satisfied customers.
CBH ArchitectsBarnett Design Build utilized space from small existing closets to create room for a second floor laundry area in the upper stair hall, which can be concealed by a sliding barn door when not in use. MainStreet Design BuildHome is where the heart is for this family and not surprisingly, a much needed mudroom entrance for their teenage boys and a soothing master suite to escape from everyday life are at the heart of this home renovation. With some small interior modifications and a 6′ x 20′ addition, MainStreet Design Build was able to create the perfect space this family had been hoping for.
In the original layout, the side entry of the home converged directly on the laundry room, which opened up into the family room. This unappealing room configuration created a difficult traffic pattern across carpeted flooring to the rest of the home. Additionally, the garage entry came in from a separate entrance near the powder room and basement, which also lead directly into the family room.
With the new addition, all traffic was directed through the new mudroom, providing both locker and closet storage for outerwear before entering the family room. In the newly remodeled family room space, MainStreet Design Build removed the old side entry door wall and made a game area with French sliding doors that opens directly into the backyard patio. On the second floor, the addition made it possible to expand and re-design the master bath and bedroom. The new bedroom now has an entry foyer and large living space, complete with crown molding and a very large private bath. The new luxurious master bath invites room for two at the elongated custom inset furniture vanity, a freestanding tub surrounded by built-in’s and a separate toilet/steam shower room.
